One of my most successful projects was RentLito, the largest temporary worker accommodation marketplace in Poland. RentLito addressed a major challenge in the temporary employment sector: the lack of a streamlined, scalable solution for housing large numbers of workers. By creating a centralized, automated platform, we significantly improved the efficiency of the accommodation booking process. I took on a role of Tech Lead, guiding developers, coordinating with stakeholders, and developed most of the key features on the platform. As the most experienced member, I provided mentorship, streamlined communication, and helped shape the platform’s strategic direction. We have helped accommodate employees for over 30000+ nights.
Low-code platforms are generally less demanding from developer and infrastracture standpoint. The entry barrier is much lower than with traditional technologies. Most platforms provide a drag and drop editor with confirgured cloud infrastracture. This greatly cuts infrastructure and maintenance costs. Low-code simplifies bug fixing, patching, and performance optimization, reducing long-term operational overhead and tech-debt. Most of the time low-code is just more cost-effective and agile.
We are well past the era when platforms like Bubble struggled as their user bases expanded. Axis Bank, one of India's largest banks built its banking app in FlutterFlow (500M+ downloads, 13M+ MAUs). However, this doesn't mean the app was merely "clicked together". Today’s NCLC platforms are rich with built-in integrations, yet they still offer the flexibility to enhance applications through plugins, JavaScript scripts, external APIs, or even entire backends like Xano, BuildShip, or Django. This flexibility means that inevitably, every NCLC developer will encounter coding at some point. The idea that no-code and low-code tools could replace developers is far from reality. Instead, it's the hybrid approach that prevails, allowing control over the level of abstraction -> this balance is key for achieving speed and flexibility, along with scalability and stability on all levels, including enterprise.
